Coffee grows wild in Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia. Before the 10^th century, it was eaten as it was found by the nomad tribes of those areas, who had discovered its alluring stimulant properties.

Coffee is a shrub belonging to the genus Coffea and the family Rubiacee: this is its botanic identity card. Its looks like small evergreen tree which in nature reaches a height of 6 - 8 meters.
